As part of McShane Development's commitment to the communities we serve, we adhere to sustainable development, design and construction principles. We use environmentally- friendly materials to create green buildings and deliver double value to our clients by reducing operational and maintenance costs and enhancing our contribution and reputation within the community and the real estate industry.

Because we are committed to delivering facilities that reduce the consumption of finite natural resources, we employ sustainable design and construction techniques to varying degrees in each of our projects. Particularly during strategic planning, we work to help clients identify long-term savings and up-front benefits through a menu of green construction and asset management options.

We are committed to designing and constructing facilities that minimize the long-term impact on natural resources. Therefore, we practice sustainable design and construction techniques every day and to varying degrees, on every project. Sustainability is a core topic during pre-construction. We work hard to ensure that our clients receive the financial benefits – short- and long-term – of considering the many green construction options that can positively impact a project financially.

In concert with our in-house construction teams, we are committed to sustainability, whether we're building in urban areas where we recycle 50% of the waste stream from our jobsites, or on large suburban multi-family projects, where simple techniques like low-E glass, Energy Star appliances and high SEER cooling equipment significantly reduce energy costs for residents. On many of our commercial projects, we're skilled at installing geothermal systems that allow our clients to take advantage of natural heating and cooling technology throughout the life of their building.
